Thank you for sharing that excellent idea. You can easily wire the air compressor to one of the auxiliary power outlets under the pillion saddle, which is controlled by the power switch on the right handlebar.

You are correct; the seat heat is essentially the same with either the 15-inch or the 17-inch rear wheel: 31.3 inches. The 17-inch stock CST tire has a very slightly smaller outside diameter than does the 15-inch stock CST tire. It's a princess and the pea deal: You'd have to be a real princess to detect a difference by sitting on the motorcycle.

It has fit very well on the Versys and the TU250 I used to own. I'm confident it will work fine with the RX3.

Veteran, Tose 185's are GREAT bikes.

I had one n HSchool, loved it.
If you want to sell her, I'd be interested if its close enough etc. Are you seriously going to sell it? If so, I'll PM re details.

Either one ought to fit ... just depends on whether you need a 35 or 45 liter bag.

The main seat dimensions from the CSC blog show 12" at the back of the driver seat, so probably a 10" width for the passenger pillion.

From the Wolfman site, the Beta Plus seat channel is 10" at the top and 14" at the bottom. The Mini Beta Plus is 8" at the top and 12" at the bottom. The Mini will leave a gap, but still ought to fit.

If I remember correctly, the rider was not seriously injured.

That's not a Minsk TRX 300i; I believe it's a Zongshen RX3, and the crash occurred in China. I think the thread regarding the crash is posted on MyChinaMoto.com.

Seat height; thanks to everyone who responded. It eases my mind and further cements my plan to buy them when I get home from Hades...wait, I meant Haiti. On the topic of compressors/tire filling; I use a Topeak Minimorph tire pump and it works excellent. Yes, it's manual labor, but if I've got to air the tire, I want bullet proof. Although I've never actually used the Co2 fill, I did get one but replaced it with the Minimorph because the minimorph didn't take up any more space than the fill and cartridges, plus there are an infinite number of attempts with a pump, but a compressor and or Co2 fill, are limited to battery and numer of carts you want to carry. I've used the pump twice back in the boonies of Haiti. Once when my rear tire slipped the tube and tore the valve out (roadside tube replacement), and the other time on my buddy's front tire when he got a flat. I'll try to attach a picture of where I tie wrap mine along the handlebar crossbar, but the jpg may be too big. (If it does attach, please pardon the dusty condistions on the bike, I just got back from riding and it's a dry dusty day here today. Here's a link: http://www.topeak.com/products/Pumps/MiniMorph

I also carry the Topeak MiniMorph in my backpack, but I haven't had to use it yet.

In addition I carry four CO2 cartridges, a patch kit, and a 21-inch, spare inner tube. If necessary, the 21-inch tube will fit in both tires. It is very wise to carry a spare inner tube. If you tear the valve stem you will not be able to patch the tire. For this reason it is also wise to install rim locks on both wheels. Otherwise, the flat tire might shift on the rim, and it will rip the valve stem from the inner tube. If this happens, and you don't have a spare inner tube, you are in trouble.

I fully agree on using a manual pump. It runs on sandwiches.

Magazine Shout-out

Just got my new issue of Rider magazine, and its looks as if the RX-3 is not in the running for Motorcycle of the Year. Even though we all suspect its a game-changer, I guess they need to ride it first.

But, Clement Salvadori in his Road Tales column devotes three very nice paragraphs to CSC and the RX-3, and to the virtues of touring on a small bike, even though he has not had a chance to ride the RX-3 either. Way to go Clement! I may pick up a copy of No Thru Road to help pass the time while I am waiting for delivery.
