Boat and bike update. Awesome trip around Puget Sound last summer. Then Diamond lake, and then Lake Shasta this spring. Boat is great. Down to 1 Motorcycle, the KLR250. Planning a 2 day dual sport ride in June and a boat trip to Friday Harbor this summer. That’s about it!

Alas... So much for the GS550!
I had a standard (first year -1977). Spoked. What a wonderful first road bike. I traded it with my brother for a 67 Nova, then bought a 1978 GS550E (mag wheels were the only substantial difference) Again, FANTASTIC little bike. 6 speed with digital gear indicator, HP built to ~50 at 6000 rpm, but it was no slouch between 2000 and 4000. Such a smotthe, sweet ride. I paid $1560 for the 1977. No kidding. I will never forget that number. Showroom new, 0 miles.
