I finally took delivery of the KLR, getting it broken in, so far I've been averaging 51+ mpg, very happy with that. My last KLR was a 2007, seems to be a lot of improvements since then, the first thing I noticed was the transmission, smooth as a Honda! Here are some recent photos.

Beautiful bike! I bet you can go anywhere in Peru on that.
I really like the old Cruiser and locomotive as well. Thanks again for your terrific pics.

Back on the road two-up on the KLR, we rode down to Parcas, then on to Ica. We visited the Inca ruins at Tambo Colorado for the first time, in a word incredible, Charito and I were the only ones there. Also rode out into the desert to check out some great photo spots for the Dakar, I'm getting excited about that.

As always, your photographs are wonderful. Your KLR650 looks great; it's an excellent motorcycle.

Charito says thanks and hello, I rode down to the Dakar Village in Magdalena today, uploading photos for you guys tonight. I'm heading south at the break of dawn on Friday, will stay in Ica and should be able to catch three stages from there.

The Dakar village; how cool is that?
I'm amazed to see Sodexo as one of the sponsors noted on a dirt bike. Where I live, they're a healthcare contract company. It appears to be the same font that they use here, so I'm guessing it's the same organization.
