There is a lot of bull around scotch.... You will see a guy taking a sip of scotch and the babbling will be something like

"Ohhh i can taste it, it was brew in a very cold december in the highlands"

another sip

"Oh the cask had a small fungus which gave it extra flavour"

another sip

"Ohh dear the brewer wife was pregnant" another sip "It was a healthy baby girl"

There's truth to that, but it's also true that a good whisky, my preference being a nicely aged Islay single malt, is a somewhat divine experience if you like smoke and enjoy whisky as intended, rather than mixing it with something.

I recommend Lagavulin 16 if you get the chance to try it!

Prefer Laphroig myself but I have some Glenfiddich, Glenlivet, and Acnoc.

If you guys are into Islay stuff there`s no competing against Ardbeg Uigeadail. The only time I`ve spent almost a hundred euros on a bottle of alcohol and it lasted almost three years as I tend to consume 1cl at a time just enjoying the flavor and aromas.

Speaking of whisky, didn`t buy but got as a Christmas present and currently enjoying a wooden box full of three different pastilles flavored with Mackmyra Swedish single malt whisky and I must admit them being quite pleasant on the tongue.

Kentucky Bourbon kills brain cells outright, similar to a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. Islay single malts allow the brain cells to contemplate Life, The Universe, And Everything* before they implode.

Christmas morning purchase from the Bay of Fleas. Four 1T4 vacuum tubes from Belgium for the Regen Radio kit my eldest gave me for Christmas. Almost as well liked as the #2 pencil with a moose turd where the eraser should be that she gave me. That's my girl.

I disagree.... jack daniels, yes..... but any decent bourbon, i find has far more interesting flavor profiles than a single malt.... try a bottle of Larceny Small Batch.... or, not sure you can get it out there becquse its disrilled here in NY, but Black Button distilling has a wicked good bourbon....

That's why they make so many different whiskeys. We all have different tastes and expectations. Could you imagine us all marryin' the same woman?

1999 Facelift model Nissan Terrano II 2.7L Automatic. Only crappy pictures in the dark for now. Seems like in decent shape, little niggles here and there but nothing I can't fix or jerry rig. Should be a big help with the sore left leg not having to stomp the clutch a thousand times every day...

EDIT: picture for your enjoyement. I do believe these were sold as Ford Mavericks stateside?

Nope, but close, kind of. The 1st generation Nissan-based Ford Maverick you are referencing was sold only in Europe, but its successor was based on the Ford Escape, which was sold in the States.

Scuse my mistake, further studies reveal the maverick was sold in the UK not in the US and the Terrano 1 in the rest of europe

Its so weird how they name the same cars differently for different markets. Our Maverick was a Mustang wanna-be. I did like the 302 Grabber though.
