Yeah, but you have to look at what you are buying. If it looks like it's been abused or it's missing batteries, I walk away. I've gone through the jig saw, band saw, and drill press for good measure, just because it looked like they've sat for quite awhile in someones basement.

The table on the jig saw was rusty. It's nice and shiny now. The band saw needed cleaning and a new M8 bolt in the table clamp. The drill press just needed to be cleaned and lubed.

The one I go to the most is in Elgin. It's an old Lee Wards craft store. It's dark, kind of cramped, and has some of the friendliest staff anywhere. Lots of bargains to be had.
The one in Naperville is in an old Lowes. Bright, cherry and well laid out. Staff is somewhat surly and, well, retail is probably cheaper.
Today was the first time at the West Aurora store. Not sure what the building once was but is the best of the other two stores and a heck of a lot closer.

Bruses-As ReStore is directly affiliated with Habitat For Humanity, might not hurt to contact them. I'm sure they don't want bad press.

Yeah, I've been to a Re-Store in Birmingham, AL that was the absolute pits. You would think all their stuff got dipped in gold before it went out to the floor. I've driven by the one in Naperville, but didn't have a chance to stop. Naperville is where my former company is located, right off Diehl Road and Rte 59. So many toll roads up there! The Re-Store in Atlanta, GA isn't too bad. I haven't been to any out this way yet. Maybe that's a project for a coming weekend. I wonder how much stuff I can get in the back of a Chevy Suburban with the seats removed...

I know the area. Out of staters bitch about 'having to pay to drive on our roads'. We bitch, too. Back before we moved, I could get to Indiana from the NW burbs without paying a penny in tolls. It involved taking the Ike into the city early Saturday morning, then taking the Damn Ryan out to the Bishop Ford to 80/90. Then pay through the nose to run through Indiana and Ohio.

I had an 85. You can fit a lot.

Bought and installed laminate flooring for my daughters bedroom. Easy install but my body if paying for it today. Knees and back hurt like a mofo this morning.

An '04 Chevy Silverado 4 door 4x4 with the tow package. My Toyota 4x4 is still in good mechanical condition, but the cab and bed are shot. So I decided to buy a newer Chevy 4x4 that was in good shape and had AC. This thing is super clean, got all the bells and whistles, and it fit in my price range of 5k or less. So far I'm impressed, it's one hell of a truck for $3,500.

It's a late 20s, early 30s Underwood I'm getting working for a special project for Mrs. Cs' Xmas present. A printer just won't cut it for authenticity.

A 1/2" pneumatic impact ratchet, the stick kind, already have an electric gun but that thing is mahoosive, weighs half a ton and never fits anywhere other than wheel bolts. Also got a die grinder while I was at it to smoothen them welds and crap. Not bad paying 55€ for both IMO. Yea they're not snap-on but will probly do what I need from them.

out here in 'murica we have a chain called Harbor freight, a LOT of the air tools they sell are darn good , i have several cut off tools, die grinders etc, and they all last in a commercial environment (i am a small engine/compact diesel tractor mechanic) however, you can also find really good deals on the name brand stuff if you dont mind buying used from Ebay....i got a snap on MG725 1/2" impact wrench off ebay for $115 (thats in bald eagles, not euros, LOL) that has been great for the last 3 years of abuse...LOL

Well aware of HF I got friends living in Montvale, VA just off the parkway and in the southern `burbs of Denver CO (don`t have his current addy) These were bought from a store that`s a local equivalent of HF, most of the stuff they sell are store rebrands of decent stuff with a 12mo guarantee and the store is half an hour away so not worried if they break, I`m more concerned if my compressor is able to produce enough CFM to run them but based on what I`ve found in the net it should, although most likely be running most of the time. The wrench is mostly for car stuff to get to those pesky hard to reach places so it`s mostly used outside anyway, just gotta mind the neighbors with the `pressor screaming bloody murder all day.
