I’ve got my seats almost mounted. Used the two doors from the Cuddy cabin for their base plates, since I will never reattach the doors, and, the laminate fell off all of them. I figured they are marine plywood so saved a few bucks there. They fit perfectly on the top of the seat boxes and give me the opportunity to anchor them down to the seat boxes. No one will ever know, except you guys who read this hehe.

Also, soldered new battery terminals on the battery cables. Turns over really nice and fast now. Not tried to start yet. Still working on rear hatches over battery and cooler well. Got tank and lines for the kicker motor, and an outboard lift for 40$. But haven’t installed yet. Found a guy with a yard full of boats about 10 miles away, and he’s happy to sell stuff cheap. Various other cosmetic and anti rattle (loose screws) fixes throughout the boat.

That’s it for now! I think the weather is going cold and possibly flurries for a few days so won’t be messing with it much but maybe back at it next weekend?

Wow, been a while! Took the boat on a voyage in a lake near us. Did well! Steering is stiff so I will be trying to get the cables greased or oiled, or whatnot. Really want to go to Diamond lake this Memorial Day weekend for some boating. Still snow in the campground tho, so, not sure yet the plan…

Had a good ride (and met some new friends) on the XL250 a few weeks back

Got a mild case of covid and survived

Doing a lot of mowing as things are growing super fast around here and has been pretty wet.

12 more days of school and I get my summer!

Hmmm. That’s about it!

I teach school, and one of my gal students did a paper on her KTM. Today she’s bringing it (with principal permission) to school for a show and tell. I’m gonna ride the Honda and we are going to park them both in the classroom. Should be a fun morning!

Let’s see, kind of a boat summer. Got the Bayliner doing well and have made one trip in it. Then, given an old Bass Tracker. The hull is welded aluminum and great shape. The rest of it was rotted out so I stripped it and am making a normal runabout skiff type boat. Happen to have a spare Johnson 15 so that will go on the back.

Not a lot of motorcycle stuff but a little. Buzzed around on the TC125 the other day. A 3 hour ride on the XL250 with some friends a month or so ago.

Long story short update… sold 4 motorcycles, and a car, then bought a car, then bought a project 1988 KLR250 for 100$.

Still have the boat and am eagerly waiting for summer and some boating.

Meanwhile, getting the KLR sorted for some riding.

That’s about it!

Summer 2023

Both are 1988. The paint must have been on sale that year. Anyway, some summer fun planned using my cheap toys.
