Once I can tweak it a little more I think I will like it. I want to shorten up the metal exhaust tube I used to mount the filter, it's about 4 inches long and really only needs to be maybe 2 inches long tops. That will let me shorten up the elbow a bit more and get the filter closer to the motor.
This was kind of a proof of concept for me, and to give me an idea of what will work and what won't. Once I switch to a larger carburetor, I will be doing the same thing. Thanks for the link. I was going to ask you were you got it from. I'm going to need something closer to 1 7/8" id. But that gives me a place to start looking. I think I'm going to cut a round hole about a inch bigger than my pod filter so I can put the filter in the air box and will be protected from mud and water slinging on it.

Would it be possible to drill a hole in the air box and run the tube inside and then put the filter on? My thinking is the airbox would act as a splash guard. The top of the box could be drilled for more intake air and a small hole or three in the bottom to allow any water that gets in to drain back out.

Well my MCO finally got shipped out today via Priority Mail, so as long as they don't screw up anything with the paper work, hopefully I will get it in Friday and I can register it.
