Weather has been perfect here too. I rode Friday through Monday and caught up on some much needed ride time. Clocked in a few hundred miles. The rest of this week and into next week looks to be just as nice. If I didn't need to drive my truck to carry work related stuff to work I would be riding it all week.

Before the ride getting ready to load up at the overlook TN side of the Dragon. The plan was to ride as long as she was ok and we would stop and she could get in her daughter's car if she wanted out but she wanted to stay in the whole way across.

Not sure this is what you want. Looks like they have some neat items for the 165fmm engine. Anybody deal with them? |

Barnone, thanks for the great pictures, you are a good man!!! Thanks for your posts and info as well!!!
This story is probably not the place to put this, and I don't mean to interrupt your thread... I miss traveling to Greensboro, Highpoint.....years and years ago, my Dad was a Thomas school bus distributor....Dad and I made many trips there to pick up busses. During one winter there, was an ice storm, we flew in on Eastern Air, To Greensboro, the plane barely made a stop at the end of the landing strip, and of course plane was late because of storms, etc. The Greensboro airport at that time was fairly primitive, and surprised it was a lighted field. The taxi driver wouldn't drive us to Highpoint, and my Dad knew him from all the times we flew there. Dad drove the taxi on black ice (us being from Montana we knew ice and snow)to Highpoint that night. The poor driver sat in the front, and he smoked at least 3 packs. I'll never forget it.

Hey y'all, I recently found this form and it seems to be the only one talking about the df 250rtg and I was looking at it do y'all think it would be a good first bike for a student? Is it reliable to ride every day?

I do not think a DF250RTG or any Chinese bike is a good first bike. Your need to buy a good quality used Japanese motorcycle like a Suzuki TU250X. Find a good dealer in your area and go see what they have. You need a bike that a dealer or an independent shop can work on and get parts for. Most shops will not work on Chinese bikes.

Had a flat tire while I was riding the Dragon on my DF. My wife had to come get me in my truck.
When I got home I pulled the rear wheel off and to my surprise I found 4 broken spokes one of which caused the flat tire. I have never had a broken spoke on a motorcycle. Probably have owned 40 bikes with spoke wheels over the last 60 plus years. I did nothing to cause the four spokes to break. Contacted the seller https://www.belmontebikes.com/collec...13650188468290 and after going back and forth found out that they cannot supply the spokes and I have to buy a new rear wheel and it would have to be shipped from China and take 4 to 6 weeks to get here. Price with shipping would be about $120. Air freight is around $170 so that is out of the question. Just received this from them "Good morning Vincent, Unfortunately however they're informing me now the rim is in production phase of assembly. He told me he was working on an estimated date when it'd be able to be shipped out, but couldn't confirm this as of now. I do understand the urgency in getting this issue resolved. I told the manufacturer to keep me updated with every step. Once they've informed me the estimated date for it to be ready to ship, I will let you know immediately. I do apologize for these delays. If you need anything else in the meantime, please just let me know. " I pulled out one of the unbroken spokes to measure it and saw scarring on the end that goes in the wheel hub so that spoke might soon break. Maybe Dong Fang knows there is a problem with the spokes on the rear wheel. So now I am advising not to buy a DF250RTG until I am satisfied that there is not a danger with breaking rear wheel spokes on the bike. Will check if there is any recalls at https://www.nsc.org/road-safety/safe...ehicle-recalls |
