I remember a bunch of shrimp boats beside the causeway ,and her parents had greyhounds that raced around a little track ,all stuff I would of never seen in the dead of winter in Northern Ontario !
I think those shrimp boats were beside the bridge to Fort Myers Beach and at the shrimp boat docks is the bay there.
The Greyhound racing is going to over after this year as there is not that much interest in it anymore now with all the Seminole Casinos here in Florida.

That was a lot of years ago and you are probably right ,my memory isnt that good on 40 year old details . I do kind of remember crossing a relatively tall bridge so it’s possible that would be the shrimp boat area ,think they were down on the right heading to the island ?
Disney would send us to another little place about once a month or so to play a little concert ,Bueno Vista ? but I don’t know if that was it ,it was a fair distance from Epcot ,and I just remember some small brown buildings ,possibly log or wood siding ,I do think that was closer to ft Meyers but no idea ,and I don’t remember much going on there at all .

I have been living at my cabin for the past 3 weeks ,I get up early because these buggers are honking away .I am going to call Colonel Saunders and see if he would like some meat .There are several babies who are really large but hiding in the grass for the picture .If you don’t know ,they are Canada Geese .

They are a complete pest ,but my neighbours place was given back to the bank last May ,and with nobody there in over a year they seem to be staying in his field ,which is fine with me .
When I have had enough of them ,I will bring my grandson hootch out to get rid of them

Jeez, in late winter, early spring, the Fox River Trail gets covered in it. I don’t know what’s worse, riding with no fenders or having your front wheel slide out after rolling through a fresh one and doing a full body slide through piles of it.

thats easy.... the fulll body roll in poo is worse by far... a little crap on the shins isnt a big deal to me... I grew up mtb-ing, so used to mud and poo on the shins that it doesnt phase me, rolling in it?

Actually, I was thinking the ‘skunk stripe’ of poo up the back when riding sans fenders but shin poo* is also acceptable.

*why most of my fendered bike have mud flaps on both fenders.

I had to post this one.

This is eldest grandson Eli. Eli has major smile pasted on his face. Why? See that fishing rod hanging from the tree. That’s mine.
Eli’s parents outfitted his rod with a weird “Kid Safe” hook and bobber. Poor kid couldn’t catch a cold with that set up, yet I was pulling in bluegills left and right. I changed him to a real hook and bobber. Told him to cast and he snagged my rod, that was lying on the ground behind him, on his back cast. It ended up in the tree in front of him.

First chicken done on the smoker.

First off, I am not a big fan of chicken. It was a five day a week thing as a kid and given a choice now, it’s low on the list. That said, this one was delicious. Free range chicken, so it was kind of small but, smoked for 4.5 hours with a mix of hickory and maple, along with a special dry rub Mrs. C concocted. If all chicken tasted like this one, I would have it more often.

Every single thing you make on the smoker will taste just better, don't know why, but those made with oil drums can make things taste even better.
