Thanks Lee, does the peg still pivot. I like simple and if this still allows the peg to pivot I like it.

No it's in there pretty good. But i figure if i drop the bike it will just sheer off and still have the old peg for a spare. Might try a smaller bolt that is a 1/4 inch dia. try a 1/8th just use washers and a lock washer.

Thanks for the reply Lee, think I might just weld a piece of 1/4" stock on the bracket.

Your welcome I would weld mine but don't want to weld on it just yet may find a better pair of pegs later on that fit better and a bit wider. would like 3 inch wide pegs myself but the 2" is better than stock.

My pegs were fine initially, but after landing on a couple of small jumps they started angling downwards. I did something just like Lee and ended up weldine a couple small pieces of maybe 1/8" thick steel to the pegs to get them back up to where they should be. I wouldn't mind getting some wider pegs, though, I might have to check those ones out.

Thanks Lefty. Haven't done a lot of work on the bike lately as work has gotten in the way. Taking a few days off to go to the HU Virginia meeting and was going to ride the Hawk but alas the chain has decided to turn into a rubber band, doesn't have a 1000 miles in it. Only have 1500 miles on it and it's toast.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/321799975091...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Its actually an X-ring chain, better than an o-ring chain. Make sure you have a chain press and rivet tool though, or buy an o ring clip-able master link. |

You've convinced me to buy a hawk. Can't wait to follow your journey south from home. Do you have a trip report of the African run?

Ok, I'm at a crossroads with this bike. I've got close to 2000 km on it and the only real weakness is the suspension. It is beyond serviceable for the planned expedition. It's totally unadjustable with limited travel and no damping. Fully loaded I have maybe 2" of travel and even the smallest of bumps bottoms the bike out. I have googled replacement shocks and have found a few with adjustable preload and damping but still look like they have marginal travel. Ideally I would like to find a shock with at least 5" of travel. Any suggestions that might work.

I edited my previous post. I'm not sure, but it appears to me that CSC is employing the same shock absorber as the RX3.
I'm not getting a TT250. I'm still enjoying my 2006 Zongshen ZS200GY-2.
