Yes, the Tusk panniers are definitely larger than the stock panniers.



Of course, I can't tell how well the Tusk panniers will mount until after the RX3 bikes arrive. However, one can probably use spacers to push the right pannier farther from the muffler. One can also get more space if he substitutes an FMF Universal Spark Arrestor for the stock muffler. In addition, one can remove the stock mounts for the panniers, and install the Tourfella mounts, which are separately available for sale at Taobao.

Personally, I prefer to travel light, so I really like the narrow width of the stock panniers. I also like the soft luggage options presented by Wolftrax and Threelittlebirdies. In addition, I like the way the stock panniers, and soft luggage, are protected both frontally and laterally by the stock pannier mounts.

Held on with 4 bolts (10mm bolt head) and washers going through 4mm plastic. There is also a cargo net inside to stop your stuff landing up on the road when you open it !.

Good news, no further deteoriation, which means the deteoriation that most surely occoured has been stopped, and has reversed itself back to the level of damage as last checkup 4 months ago!

That is a great video, Spud. It's not often I'd sit down and watch a 41-minute YouTube from start to finish, but this one was worth the time. Thanks for posting it.

Chongqing is an interesting place. I was blown away when I first went there 4 years ago. I've been pretty lucky having had the opportunity to visit it. We sort of knew it as Chun King when I was a kid; we knew the name only because it was the name of a noodle company on the US east coast. "Chun King" is almost the phonetic pronunciation of Chongqing the way the Chinese say it. Kind of like the Peking/Beijing and Guangzhou/Canton thing. When I go to Chongqing my hosts in Zongshen have shown me parts of the city I would have never seen otherwise. Cool stuff and an experience I greatly value.

You'll notice on the Minben position map right now there's a city called Suzhou on the right side. Suzhou is about an hour and a half out of Shanghai by road. It's China's Venice, with canals dominating the city like the Venice in Italy. It's another hidden gem most folks have never heard of.

There are a lot of things in China that are worth seeing. The Terra Cotta soldiers were in Xian were discovered only recently, and that location is now designated as the 8th wonder of the ancient world. Reading about it, and seeing photos and TV shows are interesting. Seeing the Terra Cotta soldiers in person will take your breath away.



Richard Nixon may have had has faults, but lack of vision was not one of them. He's the guy, of course, who established relations with China. That took a lot of courage.

Thanks for the video. My preconceived notions of China have been turned upside down. The economic freedoms they enjoy makes me envious. Its easy to understand now why a great deal of western companies are now investing in China.

I certainly have heard of the terra cotta army. I would love to visit Chongqing, and also see the terra cotta soldiers.

This summer I will have owned my Zongshen Sierra motorcycle for seven years. I am constantly amazed by the ignorance of the general pubic in the United States regarding Chinese culture, history, and technology. The comments made about Chinese motorcycles by some of the yahoos and neanderthals on ADVrider, et cetera, never cease to amaze me.
