Brenda and Eddie were the
Popular steadys
And the king and the queen
Of the prom
Riding around with the car top
Down and the radio on
Nobody looked any finer
Or was more of a hit at the
Parkway Diner
We never knew we could want more
Than that out of life
Surely Brenda and Eddie would
Always know how to survive

Alright, guys. I’m reliving Billy’s 1976 Chicago concert running through my head. Thanks. Seriously, thank you.

Bought a 10 Liter ultrasonic cleaner with heat. Also bought 2 gallons of Berryman brand carb dip, and new wipers for the Jeep.
way to make my 3L one feel inadequate.... LOL i could never justify the actual carb cleaner solution.... simple green diluted 50/50 works perfect for me....

I plan to do a whole lot more than just the carbs, so the extra room was a must. The CL450 I have waiting to get rebuilt spent the past 30 years out in a field on its side. I made the investment in the carb cleaning solution because once you've got it, you've pretty much got it forever. You can drain it out of the cleaner basin and run it through a coffee filter to get all the particulate out, then dump it back in. It's also safer for all the different types of metal, not just aluminum. Any drawbacks to the ultrasonic cleaner? Anything that it doesn't do well?

I’ve found mine doesn’t do grease well, but that could be what I use for a solution which is whatever’s handy diluted.

no drawbacks that i know of....LOL as far as the solution, we always have at least 5 gal of simple green on hand in the shop, so thats a no brainer here for me, makes me lazy on cleaning the outside of the carb too...LOL toss it in all gunked up, comes out sparkly....LOL

just did a carb on an old Deere lx188 yesterday, canme in running so lean it would barely run, left running like it rolled off the showroom floor 30 yrs ago...LOL

I'm going to set this up the same way I setup my parts washer. Get a high quality cleaning fluid that can be used forever, and I'm off to the races. I use mineral spirits in the parts washer, and it works amazingly well. Got the good carb solution for the ultrasonic, and we'll see what I can scare up with that. I think that between the heating function and the chemical dip, grease shouldn't be a problem. Ideally, I'm going to try to get as much foreign matter off the parts before they go into the dip as possible, so that I don't have to clean my cleaner every week.

A big fire pit.

I had it shipped to Rural King. Shipping to the house was ridiculous.

Nice. I've always liked those ones that you could cook on. I always thought it was a waste to load up a fire pit, put the torch to it and just watch all your timber burn down. Break out the burgers and sausages, and when it's all done and over, the coals should be just right for the marshmallows.
