Those are a nice addition. You can also get some cheap spoilers and attach them to the bush guards with screws or rivets, and that'll keep the cold wind off (to a point). My new mirrors arrived this week.

I'm not sure if you are kidding or not about riveting spoilers on.

Most likely serious, he was referring to adding them to deflect more wind away from your hands.

Not kidding. Aluminum rivets would be ok, but I would use ss screws and nuts.

Well guys we come to the end of our story, and it's a happy ending.
So after my long restoration journey I went to get registered and it's a story in it's own of course. So, head out to DMV and brought the son to work the kid angle with the old ladies (I wasn't leaving anything on the table). So we get a little old lady, my son chats her up, the manger next to her leans over now she's interested too, this is looking good. Okay give her the title and my DL she's looks it over, has me fill in a few fields on the title, looking good. She's holding a plate putting the sticker on it! Starts entering info, bikes not in system it's been purged, ugh. She's isn't put off at all says hold on she'll have April add it back in. Whew... While shes gone we were chatting up the manager, just making small talk haha Okay it's in the system! Starts registering it buy keeps getting denied because of the make. Now I'm getting worried at this point but damn if these ladies didn't get determined! So now we got three of them huddle over a terminal, I hear them talking, then I hear the words "over ride code" yeah buddy! Then they ask what color it is and I am like here we go yahoo! Sure enough they pushed it through and I am officially street legal!! So for everyone that's been following this story we made it! God Bless those little old ladies!

To be honest I had kind of put the breaks on waiting to see if I'd be able to register it.

I really enjoyed this thread. Thanks for sharing! The tear down and rebuild threads are my favorite because they demystify things and I always learn something. But how were you able to start the bike without a batt? I thought the normal setup requires a charged batt even to kick start the bike. I ask because my tt250 had a dead batt and it would not kick start or push start.

GeneralTso for the win! I've been through similar heartache trying to register stuff, and I know how gratifying it is when you're successful.
