Throw them away....not worth saving a few bucks

Two more bikes stolen in the last week in my local riders group alone.

The most recent one was stolen yesterday from the owners car port. A fully dressed 2001 Harley Road King.

The other was this last Thursday, a 2008 WR450.

It's starting to get a little ridiculous in this city.

Sounds like LEO needs to set up some bikes with GPS tracking and round up this cartel of moto-mafioso garbage.

When my bike was stolen I took flyers around and canvassed the neighborhood area... a few weeks later I was in my front yard working on the GL1000 I bough to replace it and the local chief hoodlum came into my yard with a rifle on a back sling and let me know in no uncertain terms that he suspected I was calling the cops on him and that my bike disappearing was just a little lesson. Lovely fellar.

The Cops/Detectives need to set up a Sting with a bike equipped with GPS

They need to do something. Over 22 stolen motorcycle reports filed in May alone.

Do riders leave the key in the ignition, or are they hot wired or just loaded on to a truck or trailer?

That's just crazy. The ring leader is probably paying some crack heads to do the thefts while he sets back making the money. If they get busted he will always find another crack head to replace them.

Or it's just a bunch of a-holes that feel they are entitled to whatever they want. Or both.

As a side note, I have a person interested in my TIG welder (Lincoln Square Wave 200) that made me a more realistic offer.

I was thinking about maybe using those funds to get my hands on a TT250. It's actually really tempting to do. All of the upgraded parts I always wanted on my Hawk, and I can still use all of the parts I had for my Hawk on it. Plus it would basically come ready to ride.

Not a bad idea. The TT250 are on sale right now for $1995 and already had the digital cluster too.

That's what I was thinking - sale price. Plus, it would leave me with just enough money for registration. Also, not to sound lazy, but assembling another bike just doesn't appeal to me right now after spending almost every free moment for the last 5 months working on bikes. The fact that it comes assembled is kind of appealing too.

Which leaves you with the exhaust upgrade you already will have and tuning or carb swap.

I got my pumper carb, throttle, and cable setup I ordered for my Hawk in the mail yesterday. That could go right on.

I still plan on doing some videos on the upgrades etc. It would all still carry over to the other Hawk style bikes.

Rolled away, hotwired, and thrown in the back of a truck (like mine).

The most important upgrade will be the alarm with the stun gun seat mod.
