It's a belt driven engine. Changing sprocket teeth will do nothing. The cvt, meaning the variator and clutch drive the chain. Plenty of ways to get more torque by hooking up the cvt system. But I don't think taking teeth off the sprocket will do anything cuz it's not a chain driven engine. Just my 2 cents.

Changing the output sprocket to a smaller one will help with torque. Adding a larger sprocket to the rear will help too.
The theory is the same whether it is a CVT or a geared transmission. At the end of the CVT is a sprocket. That is what outputs the drive to the chain and rear sprocket. I did that mod to my minibike that has a torque converter on it. Same principle as a CVT. 10t in the front and 60 tooth on the rear made for a ton of torque. |

I believe the math is for every tooth removed from the small sprocket u put 3 teeth on the back sprocket. General rule

if for example you have 15 tooth in front and 45 in back you have 3 times the torque if you change to 12 in front it runs up to 3.75 ..if you leave it 12 and go to 50 in the back its4.16 but you wont go fast anymore but you can pull like crazy...

Yeah I guess you're right. Because regardless the. Chain turns the wheels. I just personally think you can leave the stock sprocket and tune the CVT to your liking. There's endless performance parts for these engines because they are the same as a scooter engine.

These CVT engines have the variator, clutch and belt. You can increase or decrease the grams of the weights in the variator. You can get tighter springs for the clutch, a better quality clutch with Kevlar pads. Get a Kevlar belt. These are all common tuning things with the cvt. I learned alot from scooter sites and ordering performance parts for my engine. It's the 150cc, the bull 200 has a 169cc. They've been putting them on quads for years. Bigger name brands like Polaris have them on a bunch of their quads. Way more complicated though.

Hey guys! Can anyone tell me if the GY6 engines on these Bull 200 ATV's are okay for water crossings. Seems like the cooling fan would suck in water/mud/debris and plug up the works after time. Any thoughts?

You could pull a garden plow with one of these if you played with the sprockets to make it do that. I used to race gokarts and you could make the thing climb a tree if you wanted. Might only top out at 5 mph. but 170cc engine is plenty power plant to make it as fast or slow or no torque vs lots of torque as you wish. Set it up for your needs as best as possible, but you will always sacrifice speed for more power or gain speed if you don't mind being a dog off the line.
The only way to have more to overcome the trade off's is to go with a much larger displacement engine or find all the aftermarket hop ups you can. Bigger cam, bigger valves and springs, big bore carb, etc. etc. etc. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ |

Not that deep, but that air intake for the cooling is at the lower part of the engine and it just seems like it would plug up or ??? Not concerned about the actual engine air intake, just the cooling fan.
