Grandpa taught me how to do that. He used to do head gaskets from sheet copper.

I have a friend on another forum who taught me to apply a thin film of grease to both sides of a gasket, and it has worked really well for me. The gasket doesn't stick to either surface, and it is indefinitely reusable. Perhaps that would work for you.

Wow, almost three weeks since I posted anything on this. Which is also how long I've been away from home. And one more week to go. I'll be back in Mexico City tomorrow and then I SHOULD be home all of the first week of December. Then another week in Mexico, this time to Morelia. Then I SHOULD be done traveling until January.

The HID light has arrived, as has the new tensioner and all of the 'latest and greatest' cam chain tensioner support upgrades. I do plan on hitting one or two Honda dealers in Mexico City to see if they have the elusive cam chain guide on hand. Who knows, maybe I will get lucky.

Heading back home tomorrow without ever getting a chance to check for the cam chain guide here in Mexico City. :?

Some very long days this week. And it ain't all from work. I'd leave the hotel at 6:30am and get to the jobsite at 7:30. 10am is a one hour break for breakfast. Work 11 to 3pm and then one hour for lunch. Back at work from 4 til 6. Or 7. Or 8. Then a 2 or 3 hour dinner. Maybe be back at the hotel by 11. Skipped dinner tonight, so I was in around 8. Can't say I starved here. :wink: Killed a few brain cells, too.

I may have shot myself in the foot while down here. Apparently, I did a heck of a good job and our rep for Mexico and Central America, and the customer I dealt with, have requested the main office to have me deal with all technical issues down this way. Have to give this one some serious thought. And having been upgraded to the pointy end of the plane for the flight home, I'm going to give it some. Maybe with a Glenlivet.

Well, no chance to look for parts in Morelia, either. Too dang busy. Again. Looking at four more trips, though, by the end of Feb. Flew enough on American Airlines this year(50,000 miles) to get upgraded to AA Platinum. So, free beer on AA Eagle flights and better perks overall.

Morelia, Michoacon is a very pretty city with several three and four hundred year old colonial buildings. Pics up later this weekend* in the 'Pic of the Day' thread. Turned out I was there for the 'Procession of Guadalupe', the most important religious day in Mexico. Impressive.

*Left my camera at the office. :oops:

Mrs. Cheesy has become a full blown Holiday Nut Job(we're hosting the idio...er, her familiy) and in order to keep peace in the house and my head on my shoulders, I'm holding off on anymore garage time on the CX. Don't really see how it will help, but hey.

So, any of you hosting family get togethers' this holiday season, I leave you with this.
