Awesome! Great little machines. Ours is 4 years old and still going strong. I installed grease zerks on all the pivot points on the swing arm and A arms.

I'll see if I can find some pictures. Basically just drilled, tapped and installed the a grease zerk everywhere there was a pivot point.

Do you need to tap and thread? Or can you just drill a snug hole and jb weld them in place? There's not much meat on the bar to tap and make threads really anyway.

You could but I would drill a tap threads. JB welds is some good stuff but I would do it right the first time.

Some minor surface oxidation... I have been spraying it with wd40 but that is mostly the chain. Frame is holding up well.... those plated screws for the plastics though are starting to show there age.
It gets a trip to the car wash after every trip... the water in that creek is a bit acidic. |

Seems this has become an annual trip for the lad and I. Took one Kandi and the Grizz this year. Even made a new friend, we named her Brenda......

Darth
Love the photo of the dredge/sluice on wheels. I stated early in this thread that the only gold in Illinois is corn, but that was not correct. I actually took up prospecting myself. Just recently purchased a Tubby concentrator from Spike Strike Sluices. I do pan a bit on the stream but mainly classify my paydirt down to1/2 or 1/4" and then haul it home on my Coolster to run thru my concentrator and then my finish sluice. Mainly fine stuff but been a heap of fun. I did just buy a nice gas pump...so been looking at getting a mini highbanker to hook it to. I need a trailer setup like you have. |

Hey CK that's cool to hear. If your only coming up with fines your not going deep enough... get on top of that solid bedrock and hit those cracks.
If you are thinking a highbanker I would suggest something that has a 36" long 10" wide sluice. Reason is from the sounds of it you already have the pump... just add a nozzle and some 2.5" hose and you have a dredge. I started out with a Harbor Freight 2" pump and a homemade jet tube. That setup works really well if you shovel the top layers and start dredging when you hit bottom. It's nice to go with a setup that will grow with you as you progress in your skills. |
