2LZ always used to hate my vacations because he was the only one I could trust to run the place while I was gone. He did get real good at knowing the various hunting season opening dates and I could always count on a sour mood from him as they approached. As my attitude improved as his would go downhill.

What he doesn’t mention was I never denied a vacation request from him and ALWAYS had his back. We had many good times working together and it shows cause we are still buds today.

Nice pic 2LZ.

While in Sonora last week I also enjoyed seeing a few foxes at my friends backyard 'wildlife sanctuary/feeding station' :-)

Beautiful animals. Sorta halfway between a canine and a feline in appearance and behavior.

Thanks for noticing that! The fox walks, stalks and pounces like a cat....and is the only canine that can climb straight up a pine tree like a cat. Very cool animals.

Interesting, I use to see lots of foxes but now haven't seen them so much, but have sighted bobcats. Perhaps they are taking turns ruling the neighborhood?

They Use to say there were big cats around here but I always have had my doubts, ranchers and big cats usually don't get along.

I would think that big cats like the taste of ranchers and would get along on that basis at least ;-)

Minor Leagues

Saw some of the new string of "yard crew" in training for weed eating out the kitchen window last night.

You, too, 2LZ.

We had three does and five fawns eating our flowers last night. I was too busy shooing them away to take pics.

I feel your pain. Everyone who comes up and visits..."Oh! How cute!" Look honey! Deer!"

When you live with them, they can become large rats. They get so used to you always being there, you don't exist anymore. We ended up putting in plastic plants and flowers in many of the outdoor pots....and they STILL pull them out and leave them on the ground.

I wish they'd stick to the weeds!

It's a '97 with about 190k. Been a great truck. Still passes CA smog check too. It's now "out to pasture" instead of Mrs. 2LZ daily commuter. I want it to last as a "dump/Lowes/Home Depot" runner....or when we need a second 4X4 in the Winter.
