The gold RX3 appears to have a stainless steel, exhaust header. I like the bend of this exhaust header and the more protected location for the O2 probe. As for the color, I still prefer orange to gold. Please do post photos of your Honley Adventurer 250 after it arrives!

I'm in agreement with Spud that a booster is a good plan.

I just visited the CSC blog. Our Zongshen RX3 bikes are being built with the superior, stainless steel, exhaust header.
Please note the improved location of the O2 sensor, and the more direct curve to the muffler, which eliminates the previous, big downward loop of the pipe. I am very pleased Zongshen continues to improve this motorcycle.

Here is a comparison of the new exhaust header, versus the old exhaust header.

Much better! Good news that the headers are now stainless.

It is also nice to see the bikes resting on the front wheel with the center stand deployed, even if the luggage is not yet installed. A center stand certainly does facilitate fixing a flat tire on either wheel while traveling, even if the bike is inclined to rest on the rear wheel. If necessary, you can use a stick, or rock, to support the swingarm while you remove the rear axle. After you pull the rear axle, the weight of the rear wheel is removed, and the bike will certainly shift balance to the front wheel.

That exhaust header certainly appears to be stainless steel. What do you think, Weld?

Lately I have been wondering about the size of the mudflap which protects the shock absorber from debris cast forward from the rear wheel. If you examine the following video, you can see a very nice mudflap visible from 2:30 to 2:34. Our friend from Greece posted this video. I hope he will check in and report his experience with the bike, and hopefully post some photos from beautiful, historic Greece.

Following the posts on this site is very interesting, even for us folks who work at CSC!
On the gold bike...that's Zongshen's Anniversary Edition. We thought about bringing a few of them in, but we ultimately decided not to. The cost is higher than the standard bike, and the cast wheels are not available with a 17-inch rear wheel, and we decided (for now) to stick with the four colors we are bringing in (blue, orange, red, and white). Regarding the mudflap protecting the rear shock, it's big enough. I was impressed when I first saw it. If I remember, I'll grab a photo of it in the next day or so and post it on the blog. I've got a bit more info on the Baja trip on the blog, and it's going to be great. Still no date until we know what's happening with the dockworkers. Good note on the exhaust pipe...not much gets by you folks! I'm going to be rolling on some serious miles this weekend...watch for more photos on the blog on Monday or thereabouts. We've got the weather for it here in So Cal, and for all you folks back east, stay warm! |

You and I both, Spud. Although the blue is growing on me. That is a stunning bike (I already have a blue jacket). And the red...wow! And the white...it's just stunning.
Maybe I'll stick with yellow. Decisions, decisions. So, let me throw out a feeler...what colors do you think would go well on the 2016 RX3 motorcycles? |

I think the current colors cover the bases very well. However, it's always nice to have more options. Perhaps some future owners would prefer black. Personally, I don't like black motorcycles, but some people do. It might be nice to have a darker, KTM Orange, in addition to the yellow-orange. However, I prefer the brighter, yellow-orange. I'm sure some riders would like Kawasaki Green.

Color choices would be to stick within the primary and secondary colors with white and black. Only addition might be pink and silver or gray.
Might be interesting to see frame color choices. White and silver would look good. Or body color matching with the current 4 colors.

Wow I'm impressed. A couple of my niggles about the RX3 have been addressed. The rear wheel and O2 bung location, bingo fixed. Now as long as Joe is searching for colors for 2016, how about a 2016 RX5(450cc) in matte gray.
