However, riding north from Lowell, I will need to travel very light, and camp . Therefore, I am considering getting a Catoma EBNS for camping in the extended wilderness areas of the route.

The Tour of Idaho T2, and T3 routes are much less technical.
http://www.motorcyclejazz.com/TIDEW.htm http://www.motorcyclejazz.com/T3.htm The new, Idaho Backcountry Discovery Route (IDBDR) is also dual sport friendly. http://www.backcountrydiscoveryroutes.com/IDBDR Therefore, I plan to ride my Zongshen RX3 and Honda XR650L along those routes, and camp with the larger, Catoma Lone Rider tent.

My ride plan is a simple one, ride south. I will be officially retired on this trip and not have any time constraints. Don't know how far I'll make it or what my final destination will be. Pretty sure I'll post it for sale on the HUBB. The again it's not that far from SA to Cape Town.

Another scenario, I may become so endeared to the China bike I won't be able to part with it. If that's the case I may spend vast amounts of my fortune bringing it home with me. The only bike I ever really loved was my 67 Honda Super 90.

It didn't look quite that nice. Knobbies and a 60T rear sprocket. Owned it for 12 years and it ran every time you kicked it. Adjust valves, change oil,mess with points and that was it. The fuel line apparently ruptured while it was idling one morning and the bike completely burned to the ground.
