No issues starting. Runs like a top.

If the bike has no mods...
ie... air cleaner / exhuast etc
then any jet change needed will be close to
what yamaha put in it...
if you have to go along way from standard jetting
there is other issues going on in the carb , intake
or exhaust systems , cam , ignition timing..
I would replace ALL brass in the carb to start with..

get a length of clear tube put it on the carb bowl drain
hold it up the side of the carb open the drain screw..
it will show where the fuel level is... should be at the
fuel bowl gasket...

Any updates on this bike? Been looking at the TT-R series bikes off and on for the past few months now and was about to start saving up for a brand new TT-R 230 at one point.

Around here I see a lot of great deals on used TT-R225 bikes for $900-$1,000. The TT-R230 is also a very good bike.

So either way a win win situation which ever one i choose to go with...One of my goals with the TT-R was to add lighting and possibly get it plated for dual sport use since as far as i understand it it takes very little to do so here. Starting with a used TT-R would allow me to take the savings and place them into said upgrades

My good friend Andy added the necessary equipment, and got a license plate for his Yamaha TT-R225. It is great little motorcycle.
