Oil cooler install

Has anyone ever put an actual filter in their oil coolers. I was thinking about this one. Don't know if it would help any.

I've thought about ordering that exact filter. Megadan ordered one for his. Don't know if he installed the filter or not. I don't think it is necessary. The centrifugal oil filter on the engine will take care of the fine stuff.

I have the stainless mesh on mine, but the standard one that comes with the kit is just as effective at stopping the bigger particles and takes up less room. I dont have enought hours on it to give a full report on it. Just be aware that the housing is decently bigger than the standard screen and spring.

Cool. I wasn't sure if it was any better than the screen that came with it, or worth the money to buy it. One thing is for sure though. I am getting an oil cooler!

That's basically the same one I have . One will do. I have installed two due to the hot summers here in the south. I do a good bit of slow trail riding which will make the engine run a little hotter. I took a long ride on Sunday running 55 to 60 mph and oil temperature ran between 120 and 145 degrees.

ive been an enduro rider since age 4 here in the U.P. of michigan we also have the loose moose enduro ive rode in most years since age 10 its in the top 5 hardest enduro races in the U.S. for some of those years so i to like to ride the tight stuff slow and grunting up hills since here its basically my back yard would one be good seeings how we only break 100 degrees about 4 times a year ?

One should be good. I'm also running a higher compression ratio than stock is another reason I choose to put two.

so im about to order the oil cooler i posted a link to but the only thing i want to do first is find a source for extra filters but i cant find those kind anywhere what should i use ?

How exactly are you running two? I'm just curious because if I do end up getting one of these enduros, I am obviously going to do the higher compression mod.

nvm i just realized i dont need an extra filter right that one is serviceable after re reading the tread i found you guys talking about filters and what i got outta it is the filter on the oil cooler is just a relocated screen filter and its plenty good... what do you do to clean it just spray compressed air threw it when your doing an oil change?

Did you pay direct to them with your credit card? I went through the whole set up process and they confirmed the order. There is a tab to click for payment but it is not a PayPal link but it looks similar to PayPal. When I click it, it immediately asks for my CC info when usually it would direct me to PayPal and then back to the merchant. I don't feel comfortable giving out my info to an offshore merchant. Seems fishy to me. Please advise. I also sent you a PM
