HAHA I think that's called just a "break" procedure vs. "break in".
Usually recommendations are pretty close to the same with most bikes / atv's, use varied speeds, no extended constant speeds ie. using fluctuating revs, but nothing more than 3/4 throttle. Generally speaking anyway. Is this the same with Tao's? I haven't seen anything in writing, but I'd hate to see any new guys burn their motors up. |

Anyway, I took the bull out on some pretty intense trails, and hill climbs yesterday. I put about 3.5hrs of moderate to heavy usage. The bull went up anything I attempted very imrepssed with the performance. After driving many of the trails my speeds were around 15-22mph, and I didn't real feel like the max speed was an issue. So, my exhaust pipe to head bolts came loose towards the end of the run, and it has also developed an exhaust leak at the area where the EPA pipe bolts to the area on the exhaust pipe on the right side. I have a question about the gasket to the exhasut pipe to cylinder head. Are these a one time use, or can they be reused? I am getting a little exhaust chirping after the ATV gets warm, and I'm thinking it may be coming from that area. I changed the oil this morning, and the oil looked good. Nothing unusual as it drained. I also pulled the spark plug last night, and the burn looks very nice. |

Sometimes if you are just removing and reinstalling the exhaust you can be lucky and reused. But most of the time, especially if it loosen and ran a while you will need to replace it as it usually gets burnt.

Thanks for confirming. I was thinking I would need to replace it. When replacing the gasket, Do I just tighten it all the way down until the exhaust pipe bottoms out against the cylinder head? |

You don't want to over tighten. I usually snug up the nuts and then alternate back and forth from nut to nut until I feel it's tight enough. About 15 ft/lbs It may be less on the gy6 depending on bolt size. I've been doing this for a while so kind of have that built-in torque wrench. lol

I wanted to confirm that the exhaust gasket is shot. The style in that is in the Bull has a metal ring, wrapped in an insulation/packing material which is now gone LOL. |

I need to pull the plug to verify the part number, but I'm pretty sure this will be the plug. I was able to find it at AutoZone for under 3 bucks. I'll try to confirm tomorrow.

NGK-C7HSA is the plug I am using. I put that plug in before I even started the unit for the first time.
As far as ATV with GY6 break-in....my method is one tank of gas on 10w-30w dino oil driving fairly easy, but finding some places to lug the engine a bit like long "not to" steep grades or throw a passenger on to help lug the atv a bit. Do this in a few 15 minute cycles at first. Once its time to fuel again....change the oil to a good 10w-40w synthethic 4 stroke oil. Now...just ride the thing like you plan to ride it. From my kart racing experience... 4 stroke engines like to be lugged down a bit on break-in. On a dirt oval banked track I would do 20 laps in 3 cycles and shifting weight by swerving around the track at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle. This would throw weight from side to side and alternate weight on rear axle/front spindles. Then change the oil to Royal Purple 10w-40w....run that kart rpm up to spooky territory and race it like you stole it. |

In that picture you posted of the rear.
The bolt facing the camera on the bottom left might be the one for tightening the chain... there will be another bolt probably to loosen the rear assembly so it can pivot when the chain tightener is adjusted. |

Just received my Bull 200! Is going together pretty well even though several of the holes don't line up well. Any of you out there who have put one of these together, do you know what the flat steel bar is for that is about 19"X2.75" and has one hole drilled in each end? I don't think is was shipping stuff but it could have been. Thanks for the help!
