Gear oil for a Gio 125cc
I recently posted a thread on installing a performance stator on a Gio 125cc. While I had it apart, I noticed a rubber plug above the chain drive sprocket. I popped it off and noticed a bolt just behind it.
See the rubber plug above the chain drive sprocket in the photo. ![]() I'm assuming this is for gear oil. Does this ever need to be replaced? If so, how would I go about draining it? Also, is there a standard gear oil I can pick up at the local store or should I be going to the bike shop? Everything is working fine, I just want to try and keep this trend going. Thanks Al |

Are you saying that it's being lubricated from the same engine oil that lubricates the motor, or are you saying the gear oil is the same type of oil I put into the engine?

There is no separate gear oil in your engine. Being a unit motor, the engine oil is also the transmission oil.
You add oil through the dipstick hole only and nowhere else.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I can check this one off the list!
