Just sayin HI...

Hey. Just found this site tonight... Glad to find you. I have a Roketa RSM-200E (DB-07). Bought it last spring as a starter bike... I had not ridden in several years, and wanted something light and easy to handle, plus I liked the price. got it at a local shop new in the crate for $899.
I put about 1000 miles on it, then got an older crotch rocket. Still have the Roketa tho... It has been great, just a few issues. It starts and runs great. I ran regular oil changed it several times in 500 miles.. there is no filter on this bike just a screen. first couple changes.. there was lots of crap on the screen, then it cleared up. at 500 miles I switched to Mobil 1 Synth for bikes... I figured it was cheap insurance.

One thing I noticed is the engine is not the same as the one in the documentation... the docs show a gear driven cam , and mine is chain driven. The engine looks different on the outside too.

I would like to find out if there is any way to get just a little more speed out of it. It will do 60MPH in 4th, but not any faster than 65-68 in 5th. It is running out of power not gearing. I weigh 220lbs.

Are there any exhaust or carb upgrades that can be done?

I would appreciate any help you can give

Here are some pics.

And a video of it running.. You can see the engine in this one. This was taken with my dig cam.. so the sound is not great.

Thanks
Ken

60 to 65 is all you're gonna get. Wind resistance is what limits these bikes. Do a search on carb and exhaust mods. LOTS of info on here to read already. Nice bike!

Red, I know ours will go at least an indicated 82mph(closer to 75-77mph actual) even with my fat a$$. Just get a good tuck behind the headlight and go for it. Surely, you've had a chance to gap your's out? He's just lacking the intake and exhaust mods. I remember ours struggling like this when we first got them. The exhaust is the biggest culprit. Moving the c-clip to the bottom and the air mixture screw adjustment made a word of difference. The stock air box can stay if you plan to do alot of dirt riding. We went with the cone type K&N filters, though.

I can't wait to hear more about your shock mod!!

Jason

I havent done any mods other than drilling out the exhaust, and all I can get (with the wind just right) is about 70mph. If there is any kind of wind in my face 60-65 is tough. I am considering adjusting the carb and air mixture screw to see if I cant get a little bit more out of the bike. I weigh 230lbs. I'm honestly not very interested in going much faster on this bike.

I'm not sure I want to go any faster than 65 on mine!

hi Ken.........I too have a Roketa, as many of us here do. And I know what you mean about the documentation not matching up.....
The illustrated parts book that came with mine, also shows the OHV/push rod engine,..as opposed to the OHC engine that is in fact in it.
In fact,......the parts book is basically useless.............
