i would agree its not a good pratice, a 12 year old can rip the transmission into scrap on a maico if shifted while under power and no clutch :wink:

I shift my RM 125 under full power, with no clutch all the time.
For a modern MX bike, its no problem. The trans in bikes generally do not need to be shifted with the clutch. |

1/2 brain and upshifting..= cool beans
Doughhead and down shifing = metal bits in oil. I have ran a standard shift for 18 years with only one clutch pack replacement...but that was because of 2 lesbians and elevation....
