Picked Up Project Bike Today
Got a 91' DR250 off ebay. Going from 16hp to 29 is something of an eye opener. But, the FMF Powercore 4 pipe is something of an eardrum opener!
The trick will be to get it street legal. A kill switch and a trip meter, that's it!! Headlight and tail light go on and off with the motor, no switches at all.

I had the street version of this bike, or a '90--can't remember  . It was the version before they (finally) added electric start--my favorite bike yet! Would take it over my current bike, the Honda Ascot 500. Sold it in '94 to someone who exported bikes to S. America or somewhere like that--still don't know why.... (selling it-not the S. America part )

Can see right away that i'm gonna miss elec starting. Don't like the comp rel. thing very much. But, the choke fast idle is appreciated.
11" suspension travel front and rear seems excessive, but hey...

You know, looking back at these thanks to the internet, I don't know why the Chinese didn't "clone" these?

Even with the goofy paint splash decals, it still looks like it means business.. Looking forward to thrashing the ole bike about a bit!

Got it apart right now. The carb's idle circuit is clogged up. Once, it's back together i'll post some pix.

Has an interesting carb. A Mikuni flatslide pumper. Can't find a rebuild kit and a replacement carb is only $352.28US. :x
Hope a simple cleaning out will do.
