You guys don't have a National Sales Tax?(Guess I should have picked up on this while shopping in the USA)... We have both provincial and federal sales taxes, and we also have income taxes.

Nope. Just state and local sales tax. Some states don't have an income tax either.

I am all for the Fair Tax also. I consume little and that which I do I tend to buy used. I am cheap person.

GA is attempting to reduce the taxes on businesses in order to encourage them to make more jobs. Also the governor was wanting to turn down alot of the stimulus money.

I forsee GA coming out of the recession before alot of other states.

Well there you have it it will sound good to our "people in charge" and they would implement it and get more taxes from US.

GREED laziness is the problem with our leaders they are tied to the power companies and they are not going to allow cheap energy until they can find a way to get their grubby-greedy little paws in there.
Ohh they all say "something has to be done" but you never hear the rest of the statement which is " but not at the expense of our profit margin".

The regular homeless people are either a bit out there mentally or nonfunctional in a society or plain LAZY you cant really help them unless they WANT to be helped.
What freaks me out about seeing the tent cities pop up is those people are willing and able to work but there just isnt any work and they are stuck for lack of planning.
I read 700 people applied for 1 janitorial position that pays $15 bucks an hour thats sad.

Around here there are few jobs and businesses keep closing all the time.

This is shameful that this great country has come to this. I have so little respect for our elected people. I hope some day we can recover, but I don't think it will be soon. I wish all of you the best. It might be miserable but it will also be interesting.

If a person earns a million and lives like a street person, then they should pay taxes like a street person.
Makes perfect sense to me; unfortunately people who make perfect sense can rule out any chance of being elected to a major office in this country.

I find it ironic that China doesn't tax capital gains like we do in the US. That frees up money for business owners to put back in their companies. You'd think we'd learn a lesson from them. I wonder if their government has all the "pork spending" that we do here.
