Exhaust bushing

Any thoughts on where to find replacement for an exhaust bushing (the rubber mount that goes between the muffler can and the frame). It looks like the factory didn't install the bushing properly, and it is totally worn out and is causing vibration.

I've used this type of mounting. Available from engineering suppliers and effective at absorbing vibration:

They're available in all sorts of thread configurations, male/male, male/female, etc and a huge range of sizes and shapes. This link gives you an idea and overall view of what's available, click on each type for a full chart of sizes:

Yes, that's exactly what I'm looking for. Now, where do I buy it?

They're sometimes called "Exhaust mounting bobbins" as they are often used to suspend exhaust system components in cars, especially kit cars and specials. You can also find them for radiator and oil cooler mountings.

If you google "bobbin rubber mountings" you get a few places come up. It's best to do the googling using "google images" first, as you can see straightaway the items pictured.

I got mine from the local engineering suppliers, the type that stocks tools, hardware, compressors, etc, that type of thing.

I've only ever seen knobbly tyres that size for old-style scooters like Vespa and Lambretta. They're not very aggressive looking, though, like this:

http://www.scootercatalog.com/tire111-47.html

The same one is on ebay Item number: 360110812925

I think those are made by someone called BLADEZ, they make tyres for small tractors, mobility vehicles, fork trucks, etc.

Beware of knobbly tyres designed for small agricultural vehicles, they will not have the speed rating for motorcycles.

Jonathan.

I ended up using two PCV grommet from O'reilly Auto Parts. They fit perfect. I hope they last.

I was looking at that mounting point on my bike yesterday. Got to thinking that a piece of rubber hose would probally work. just cut it a bit longer than the outside collar.
