UNI Air Filter Upgrade

just finished installing a new UNI Air Filter, Part #UP4152AST POD clamp-on Dual Layer with a 15 degree angle.

it fit like a glove using the original elbow from my old stock air filter.

if you still have your old stock filter, just twist n pull off your old air filter cylinder from the elbow, "strip" off the ridges and grooves until the end is as smooth as you can get it, slip the UNI over the end , losely tighten it and then install the elbow to your carb. adjust the filter so its not rubbing against your brake fluid hose, ziptie if need be like i did, tighten it all up and your done...

with taxes etc....$38 CAD honda dealer.....
as with any aftermarket filter, there is going to be the pros vs cons, K&N filters are great, breath easy and are very Non-constrictive, but allow to much debree, UNI's are apparently very constrictive but filter out allot of debree. this filter is a dual stage, and from what ive found, they work great...i blew into the filter and it was not as constrictive as was reported, i blew into my stock filter and it was very constrictive....differance was night & day...and my quad ran so much better...im very happy with it..

I never even thought of using the stock elbow. Pure genius.

Did you oil the inner filter before use? I recommend Maxima Filter oil; it sprays on blue (so you can see what you've covered), and it sticks like cobwebs.

short on time i just gave it a shot spray of WD....
will be purchasing the real deal filter oil soon...

im pulling the carb off this week to give it a good cleaning, as well as moding the exhaust...

you can use 10w30 and squeeze out the excess well.
