New Job

I'm sure a few of you may have noticed i haven't been online much in the passed couple of months. Well I finally reached the breaking point on my last job. On the last Friday of September, i had one of those days. Looked like anything that could go wrong did. I was the last person in the office and got a couple of calls with issues on some projects. Lack of people in the field not doing there jobs. It was about 4pm, i just hung up the phone getting my butt chewed out for something that had nothing to do with me. I just had the F-it attitude and packed up all my stuff and went to the house. It was way too stressful and i had enough. Too many sleepless night thinking about who didn't do what.

I already had a job offer lined up and ended up starting it the following week. The new job is so stress free. everyone there actually does the own job. I now work for a pile driving company estimating projects. I'll make the same salary i was making before plus get commission on every project i get. I picked up two projects the first week. all these estimators are making 6 figure incomes. That got may attention really quick. lol First month i had to go into the office Monday through Wednesday to do some training on how they estimate and run their business. Thursday and Fridays i work from home. Why couldn't i have found this job years ago. Now i work from home and only go into the office on Wednesday's for a production meeting and to pick up a check. I almost feel like I'm robbing them. lol It's almost like being retired.

A job like that might keep me from thinking about retirement!

Getting rid of the stress alone is worth a LOT and finding a job that gives you rewards for your efforts is the way it should be.

Congrats!!!

Yeah, I don't mind working, It's hard to completely stop working. Besides eating and keeping a roof over my head kind of dictates having to work. lol The hardest part of this job is deciding on which slippers and PJ's to wear.

I had talked with one of my coworkers at the old job the week after. He told me I better be wearing a cup if I run into him. Lol He said thanks for leaving him all my crap. They are going to need to hire two people to take my place. As of last week they can't find anyone that wants my old job. Lol He's looking for another job because it looks like they are not putting any effort into hiring a replacement.

You're one of the lucky ones, Jerry. I know guys who died of a heart-attack at their desk before leaving the stressful job.

Edit: That ex-co-worker is an idiot for staying behind. He should kick himself in the nards.

No need to wonder why mental illness is at an all-time high. Nobody correlates it to work-stress. I have always believed work does not NEED to be stressful. It can get stressful, but those times should be the exception, not the rule.
