New member with questions for owners of X-Pro Templar X and Base models

Hello all,
I found this website while researching options to buying an older Japanese air cooled dual sport. I like the idea of new rather than used, and after sorting through the various brands I believe I've settled on X-Pro. The Templar line looks like what I'm looking for, but I'm having a hard time deciding between the Base and X models.

I currently own a Tenere 700, outfitted with luggage, and use that as my work commuter. The roads I drive are sub-optimal for a sport bike, and the T7 is perfect for its job.

I've been riding on the street for a long time (30-55, my current age), and rode dirt bikes a lot through my teen years. Dirt wise, I had a Yamaha MX125, Honda CR125, YZ80 and an RM125, and a 2005 KX250 I never should have parted with. Street bikes include a Shadow 750, 2 FZ1's, an R1, Speed Triple, NX650, V Strom 1000, FJR1300, GSXR750R, and an SM610.

My intended use for the Templar will be riding back roads and trails, with a lot of riding on our own 70+ acres. We have a lot of logging roads and a large field.

The adjustable suspension and alloy wheels on the X are tempting me, but the lack of a back-up kick start is putting me off. Not sure about the seat height, either, as to how much it compresses when you sit on it. I'm 5'10", 180lbs and in good shape, but as I get older a taller, top heavy bike like my T7 makes it hard to ride in the rough. So, pluses for the X:
Adjustable suspension
Alloy wheels
Better brakes (2 piston rear, if I recall)

Negatives:
No kick start
Higher seat
Higher price

The Base model appeals to me, too. Kick start back up, lower seat, lower price. No adjustment on suspension other than rear preload and heavier steel wheels. My gut says it will be better on our

property, not better on the back roads.

Opinions and feedback are very welcome, and I thank you in advance. Pic of my modified RB200 with a Wildcat 223 included. Rear suspension being added very soon. And my Scrambler 500, which may be sold to finance the XPro.
