Please help with Zongshen engine

Hello,

I have a liquid cooled 4 stroke 200CC engine 167ML model number. What viscosity oil should I put in it? What are the valve lash specifications? Please help me I can't find anything on this engine.

Not too terribly many liquid cooled machine owners here, but pictures always help. Are you able to post some photos of the motor?

Welcome!

I'd use 10W40 four stroke motorcycle oil, and the valves will be in the neighbourhood of 0.05mm (0.002") intake and 0.05 - 0.08mm (0.002" - 0.003") exhaust.

It's not exactly the same as yours, but I think they're both Honda clones. Have you done a Google search for liquid cooled 200cc Hondas?

I think this engine is the same as the 167FML which is an air cooled unit. Just water cooled. They look very similar. How come there is zero information on it out there? When an engine is made, especially recently, information is usually at least, abundant.

I'm sorry, but I must say I disagree. I do not think your water cooled engine is similar to the air cooled, 167FML engine in my Zongshen 200GY-2 motorcycle.

However, we will continue to try to help you with your water cooled engine.

SpudRider the reason I believe it is the same engine but with liquid cooling is this:

This is your engine the ZongShen 167FML:

This is mine the ZongShen 167ML:

Both made by the same company with similar model numbers. Look at the circular plug on the side of the cylinders-the same. I would bet the lower end, and maybe some upper end components would interchange.

Now I see why you are confused, Wolfmangk.

I searched the internet, and I saw the photograph you posted for the ZS167FML engine. My Zongshen 200GY-2 Motorcycle Maintenance Manual states I have a ZS167FML engine. However, my engine is very different from the engine in the photograph you posted. Here is a view of the left side of my engine.

Here is a view of the right side of my engine.

My ZS167FML engine is a virtual copy of the engine used in the Yamaha, TW200 motorcycles. The engine in your photograph appears to be a clone of a Honda engine. I don't know why Zongshen International has given the same name to two different engines. :roll: However, my engine is very different from yours.

I stand corrected. If it is a copy of the Yamaha motor it is undoubtedly a great motor.

Salut les gars, aparament ya plusieurs modèles de moteur ZS167FML chez Zongshen,
J'ai un petit trail de zongshen avec un moteurs ZS167FML-4 ...le (-4) ..fait référence a un type de model moteur ...je ne trouve pas de documentation technique sur le moteur RTM mais pour les jeu au soupapes je pense que c'est le standard des ses moteurs 200cc chinois de zongshen 0.06ad et 0.08 Ech.
