They reused the YF300 engine code for the KE300F which is what they did with the Templar X 250 with the PR250(labeled it as "ZS172FMM-3A" even though it's a "ZS172FMM-5").
As for the panel fitment, I didn't even bother to tell X-Pro I just drilled out the plastic until they would bolt in correctly with proper fitment. Don't worry about the oil weight, you won't notice a difference between 10w40 and 15w40. It's really your climate that determines what oil weight you should run but they dumb it down for the average consumer. |

According to the Mototek/Zuumav page the bike weighs about 276 lbs dry which I believe over the powersports spec sheet that says 258 lbs. She feels like a big girl. It also says the max speed is about 75 mph.
What are you planning on using the bike for? |

No real plans, I couldn't pass up the $2600 price. I think you are correct with the 276 pound dry weight. I have an AJ1 A8 Pro which is basically the same exact bike that I bought before this one for a couple hundred less, it's weight is listed as 259lbs on my invoice. Although the specifications don't take into account the different engines, lighting packages, exhaust that are available. I should get that one delivered towards the end of Nov.

I'm interested in seeing if this bike will be able to hold a decent rpm at 70mph. If the KPX can do it, surely this can, or so one would think.

This is great info guys thanks ! I just got my bike and I wanted to change the oil before riding it but could not find anything in the manual, so this helps out a lot. Also, knowing that the engine is a clone of the KLX engine gives a great reference point to start with.

I’m excited to see someone do a review of the bike. I’ve been driving mine around but it’s my first bike so I have no reference point on how it compares to other Chinese enduros/dualsports.

If the KLX300 can do it, this Paladin 300 can do it too. Same engine, same transmission gear ratios, the only difference is the sprocket size(14/51 vs 14,40). I hit a max speed of 75mph indicated untucked on flat ground with my Paladin. Quote:
Stock for stock I would rate it above the CRF300L and KLX300 in off-road performance. It has higher rated power(higher compression too), weighs less, comes with more factory accessories than either of those models(aluminum skid plate, radiator guards, rear sprocket, subframe, lithium battery), higher ground clearance, larger diameter front brake rotor(not by much). Aftermarket parts are easy to find for the Paladin 300 given that it can use KTM parts and accessories. Cons would be the fit and finish, having to assemble it yourself if you don't know what you're doing. Questionable legality of road use registration in certain states. You'll have to call your insurance agent to have it added to your policy. I picked up a complete engine gasket kit for $20, most gaskets for the KLX300 probably cost that each. |
