Hawk 250 tire size
Hello all,
What is the best tires for a hawk 250 that is mostly ridden on streets? Also I am having a hard time finding the 80/100 21 front and 110/100 18 rear tires. Where are you guys purchasing them from? Also would you change out the bearings while I am at it? |

In standard sizes a 3.0x21 front and 4.6x18 rear are as close as you can get. 2.75x21 and 4.10x18 will also work, but are a tad smaller in width and height.
You can also run 90/90-21 up front and a 120/80-19 or even better a 120/90-18 rear (closest in diameter to stock). As for the bearings, you could at least check them. If they are bad you can order new ones and do them another time. Removing the wheels isn't that hard of a job, especially the front.

I use these tires as "Street" tires on my hawk. They worked without messing up the speedometer too much:
Shinko 270 Super Classic TiresSKU: 1297213 Wheel Location: Front Tire Size: 3.00x21 57S TT Shinko 270 Super Classic TiresSKU: 1779926 Wheel Location: Front/Rear Tire Size: 4.50-18 70H TT I got them from Cycle Gear as there was one close enough and they included install. They worked fine altho if i remember Cycle Gear balanced them very poorly and I had to re-do it. Get nice heavy duty tubes too! I like: Michelin Ultra Heavy Duty MX Tubes |

I'd recommend getting a size larger tires. Especially for the front tire.
It'll correct the over-reading of the speedo. If your stock front tire is a 80 100 21, get a 90 100 21. You can always verify with tire size comparison sites online, if the tire will fit on your bike. |
