Honda CL350 Clone?

Is there anyone making a CL350 clone? or something like it with the 70s style and scrambler pipes. I've only come across the CCW Ace (125cc) but I want something a little bit bigger.

you can find some in the 250cc range, but have not seen any larger other than Royal Enfield. Look at CSC perhaps.

No CL350 clone there. I have seen no 350 Honda twins in any market. Not CB350, not CL350. Too bad. It was a dependable motor, nice size, efficient and easy to maintain.

If you want something comparable to a 350, you'd have to look at a chinese 400cc.
Nothing out there though.
You like classic, or are ok with modern?

I've been eying the Svartpilen 401. it's like a vader (or a grom on steroids, with 400cc ohc engine).

OP is asking about a CL350 clone.

What is a Svartpilen 401? Can you buy one? Vaders are NOT scramblers. What is our point?

The Svartpilen Prodigit is talking about is interesting. It's a combination of cafe/standard styling in a mono shock frame. It is a Husqvarna with a liquid cooled one cylinder engine.

But about a parallel twin...There are some 450/270 offset firing engines that you might like. These engines sound great, they run much smoother than the old 360 degree twins, and they are getting put into some interesting bikes. They are generally bigger though. The smallest are in the RE interceptor and a couple other REs (650cc). Low swept pipes, not scrambler, but this RE is worth a look.

The old Suzuki GS450 was lots of fun and you might be able to find one used . It has a 6speed parallel twin with a high revving counter balanced engine. It might be easier to find than a CL350.

Honda 350 and 450 twins are rare and expensive. Too bad Zongshen isn't cloning that 350 twin engine.


The 350 twin was a direct lineage of the original Honda 150 and Honda Dream 160 and other early Honda street bikes. Here is a picture of a 1968 Dream 160. My oldest brother had one of these even older vertical twins:

I remember Honda gave away buttons (~1.5" metal disks with a pin to put it on your shirt like the old political buttons). It said "Take a cycledelic trip" and Honda was printed repetitively in the margin around the edge over a paisley background. Late 60's! Times have sure changed. Now they are experimenting with Lysergic Acid for PTSD and other anxiety related mental illnesses.

At one time (long ago) I had a '65 305 Superhawk in blue/silver, and also a '74 CB350F1 Four in blue/black metallic. Both were a ton of fun to ride

About 270 degree parallel, check CFMoto 450cc bikes. Also their 300 are quite ok. Just not as good on gas as a Honda, Suzuki or even Kawasaki.

I never got to ride the CB150 or CA160. I was single digits old. These were my older brother's bikes. I got a few rides on the CB150. I held the belt and loved the sound/experience.

Superhawk looks great!

I had a neighbor that owned the CB350 four you are talking about. SOHC. I rode that one. It was anemic, but had a wonderful sound.

I bought a used Honda red CB400F Supersport when I lived in Albuquerque (~1976 model). It had a 6 speed engine with redline higher than 10k. Four into 1 stock pipe wasn't tuned (pipes were not matched length), but it was lightweight, but endless rpm fun... shift, shift, shift. It was in EXCELLENT shape, and I had no idea what it was/would be worth and stupidly, sold it.
