Oh, I'm sure they were lined up before the storm hit. Lol I got the second generator running just to run the washer and dryer. Hopefully we have power back by tomorrow or Monday. As usual, we are usually the last ones to get power.

I live in central Ky & got 1.15" of rain out of Frances.Around here we haven't had a good soaker since June,my lawn is pretty much barren wasteland.I did attempt to mow the high spots a couple of weeks ago & created my own little derecho.Created so much dust I think I got lost in the back 40.I had to go to Google maps just to find my way back to the barn.lol

We just got power back after 99 hours. Nowhere near as bad as when Hurricane Ida hit. That was 458 hours. My little generator did well.

I did finally turn up some news about Louisiana amidst all the political noise. Seems the city had to give up on the tallest building in St. Charles. Too battered by too many hurricanes, they just demolished it. No doubt difficulty in getting insurance for it figured into the decision.

So apparently they can't have any really tall office buildings there as the weather these days beats them up too much? Not good news.

Not giving THAT a thumbs up. (We need more responses.) Blew down a brick wall!

On our end of the country a mini-storm of some kind blew up and dumped an extraordinary amount of rain over Carolina Beach in a short time. One figure was 9 inches in three hours, a deluge. Total rain was I think twice that. Where I am we are going to get the leftovers with predicted "heavy" rain tomorrow. Nothing like those folks had to deal with though, I'm sure.
Weird storm though. Brewed up not so far off shore. Such storms usually develop a LOT farther out in the ocean. Not sure what to make of it.

I saw that on the news. To me, flooding is worse than wind. The wind can blow something down and it's over with. Flooding can lineally destroy everything you have and will take more lives than any wind storm.
