So I ended up buying a 2022 Orion 150dl without doing much research and now I found out they make the 190l instead of the 150 I started having problem after my buddy stalled it a bunch I started hearing rattling and we found out that came from the skid plate and the starter was really loose and that’s how I found the cracks they are bad and it still runs fine just makes a weird vibrating or knocking sound of metal on metal it doesn’t sound like engine tik or anything I just can’t figure it out would it be smarter to just engine swap it to a 190l engine

Sounds like a plan.

Thing is id like to have to put as little money in it as possible and keep the original engine and I talked to Orion power sports and they said the the 190xl has a frame that’s two inch’s longer so I wouldn’t be able to do swap unless I fabricated something up

Oh. Not a plan. Or go for it.

So the starter ended up completely cracking off I dried to jb weld it back to gather and it cracked off again so now it’s quick start only but when I ride it there is raffling some of it comes from the kickstart just vibrating on swivel it’s connected too but there is more raffling sounds like it’s at the front of the bike or engine I think it’s my valves or rockers and lifters hitting and I think they need adjusted but can’t find the correct lashing gap for it would anyone know anything? Or have a manual

It is definitely a wet clutch, and it will take any JASO MA or MA2 rated oil, the weight of which will depend on your locations temperature/climate.

That said, my buddy who has one runs 15W40 (yes, Rotella of course) in his since the temperature range seems to encompass everything we experience and then some.

Thank you I haven’t been able to find anything on this bike and I’m just tryna keep it in good shape by chance would you know anything about the carb tuning or the lashing/gap size and so even though the rotella 15w40 is for a diesel engines it still works? I thought you needed wet clutch rated oil

Can't install a new starter?
If necessary, tap new thread, and use a size bigger bolts if necessary.

The Rotella 15w40 specifically is JASO MA and MA2 rated for use with wet clutches. Check the list of certifications on the back. I use it in almost all of my motorcycles and have done for years.

In general the valve clearances on these small engines should be around 0.06mm on the intake and 0.08mm on the exhaust on a cold engine. Be careful of people blithely spouting numbers online without units -- do not mix up inches and millimeters.

Some people prefer to run tighter clearances. 0.05 or 0.04. I don't.
