New Lfan Xpect 200 bucking

Hi,

Just got a new 2024 lifan xpect 200. From the get go, as soon as the engine got warm, the CEL would flash on/off and it would buck with the flashing. I contacted Lifan and they sent a new Air Temp Sensor. Installed and now it is worse. Didn't even warm up and it died and won't restart.

I have adjusted valves and plug gap from measurements found here on China Riders, so that shouldn't be the issue.

The good news is the CEL is on constant now and I have a 6 pin adapter for OB2. Bad news is my kids have my OB2 reader. Will update when I can read code. Just looking for somewhere next to start looking in the meantime. O2 sensor?

BTW, what sensor is this in the attached Pic? At first I thought it was the air temperature sensor, but realized when I got the new one it was not. I have taken that off and I'm just wondering if I might have messed something up. Thanks!

Update

So I found out the Pic I posted was a Throttle Position sensor and I had not tensioned it correctly. Oops. Now it runs, except for a buzzing noise that seems to be from the gas tank. I read there is a hose/nozzle that is causing that. Any suggestions on how to fix or do you just live with it?

Thanks!

Fuel pump? On the KPX, the fuel pump is visible under the left side of the tank where the hose connection to the throttle body (fuel) and the power connection (12V) are easy to disconnect when removing the tank.

The fuel pump turns on when you turn the ignition on, even before you press the starter. Is that what's buzzing? That is normal, though it isn't usually very loud.

Yup. The only buzzing you should hear, is the fuel pump priming, which is like 3 to 4 seconds or so.

take a long screwdriver and slightly bend the overflow tube away from gas tank wall. seems to be a common problem with Xpect

I think this is the correct answer. Is the Overflow tube on the inside of the tank or outside? Thanks!

Also, has anybody had a problem getting insurance for the Xpect? Progressive covers just about anything, but they won't cover this bike in Virginia. Thanks again for the input.

They covered my KP mini, but not my Xpect. I went with Foremost. Not as good coverage, but only $95/year. Hope that helps in the future.

if it's like the KPX250, they start out pretty weak idle, not much torque.. slip the clutch more than you'd like. Over like 300 miles, it picked up.. and wow.. at least 25% more power than new. I also bumped the idle speed screw just a smidge on the EFI throttle body, and now the idle torque is even better w/o much affect on the idle speed. You're mileage Will vary. Lifan's quality seems to be very good.
