Coleman 125 ATV extra wire on cdi

Anyone know what the deal is with the extra wire coming out of this CDI? The wire is green and is attached to the reverse indicator wire. It is not shorted to ground. I think the CDI is bad but the internet has never seen this silly thing and it's not mentioned in the wiring diagram in the user manual. I'm assuming it's some kind of safety feature.

I have the same exact one as the picture. The new one did not come with the extra wire. I cannot find it by searching on ebay as suggested.

But is it necessary to have it connected? Will the atv even start? I'm starting to suspect the stator as everything else has been replaced. (No Spark)

And if so, do you have the correct replacement?
