Ok, I'm going to say it - I need an Intro 101... please bear with my dumb a$$ .

1) What exactly is a "SuperMoto" class?

2) Are SuMo bikes slightly tougher build than Enduros and slightly lesser than Pure Dirt bikes?
3) Or is it the other way round - more suited for street and occasional trails/grave/FSR?

4) Do they require less maintenance?

Please englighten me!

They are absolutely fun as all get out, especially if you convert a race class off road bike to a street legal supermoto. Torque for days with race class engines but can be a bit of a hooligan machine as you can wheelie without clutch ups on them even in third gear. I’m not made of money but if I was I’d have a Yamaha YZ450FX for the wide-ratio gearbox variant and the first thing I would do is a street legal supermoto conversion project with it. Race bikes require a lot more maintenance or I should say a lot more frequent maintenance. They usually only have half a quart or so of oil in them as they expect to be changed every 10 or so hours or every race.

Templar would make a nice Supermoto.
In fact, I was thinking my lowered Templar X would be ideal. Maybe the stock rear wheel would be OK (with a road tire), but the front wheel would need changing.

That would make me smile. I had back of mind plans to do this as well. Just the price of buying 17" rims already assembled is the blocker. I guess you could assemble your own rims and save a bundle. With a spoke torque wrench it would be easy to build one. A few modifications to the harbor freight wheel balancer tool might give you a fixed gauge on it to sight check the runout as well.

Oh No I did it

Bought the 2024 6 Gear Templar X 250 by XPro on Amazon;
I’m wondering if anyone has modified to SuperMoto?

I’m a new rider, short 5’4 and I’m realizing it’s a great option to reduce the height. As is; I can’t ride it and I really don’t want to return it or change it too much.

I live in Vegas and I’m from a desert town in Mexico; I’d like to still be able to use it as a dirt bike at some point. Id appreciate any info

Thank you
