Tire Decoding
Can someone please tell me what this means in tire size
3.00-21 57L - the 3.00-21 I understand, the 57L I do not? Thanks |

The 57 is the load rating which is 507 lbs. and L is the speed rating which is 75mph.

While you are staring at your sidewall you may also see the date code represented as a 4 digit number. First 2 are the manufacturing week and last 2 are the year. So 0223 would be the second week of 2023. Around the internet you'll read things like your tires should be no older than 6-7 years. But given the internet you may find a range of 5-10 years.
