Coolster QG-210 70cc Forks

So... my 7 year old wrecked his coolster... bent the front forks, rear brake lever and shift lever... As well as snapping his collar bone in half OOF! So while he heals I'm working on repairing and possibly upgrading his ride. I see a lot of suspensions on ebay and amazon and the coolster site sells the replacement parts. I'm wondering if there's a best option or a known good upgrade that I might as well do while I'm at it? I'm not trying to spend $1K on repairing a bike that I paid $400 but I figure if the $100 suspension upgrade blows away the $70 replacement suspension it's well worth it.
