Found this mystery bike for sale, what is it?

I found this mystery bike for sale locally. The seller just calls it a "chinese 150cc dirtbike". Any ideas on what it might be? It sort of looks like a Hawk 150, but it does not say "hawk" on it anywhere.

There are/were so many 'brands' it is difficult to narrow down just by looks. If you can get the VIN number, that will be the key, but even then, importers oftentimes rebranded bikes here in the US, so knowing the manufacturer based on the VIN is not always going to be helpful.

I can almost say with certainty, the engine is most likely a Zongshen or Lifan OEM, with the possibility of it being Loncin. If it is a good price, and runs, then it probably will be okay considering you have Chinariders members to help you sort out any issues that are there or may arise later on.

Thank you for the insights on this. Unfortunately, it just sold. The seller was asking $450. Oh well, I guess I will have to keep on the lookout for the next deal!

The seller claimed to not know anything about the bike other than it could use a carb cleaning.

Well, that's not saying much - every offroad bike needs a carb cleaning!

They also tend to come from the factory with a poor tune. Fortunately the actual jetting is usually close and you can adjust the needle. If you get one of these second hand the first thing to do is pull the plug. Most likely it will be black and sooty, as a bike will usually run rich, so that's easiest - drop it down one notch and try again.
