Brand New RFZ 250 wont keep running
I have a brand new RFZ 250cc. It ran good for about 8 minutes we used it around the yard then it bogged and stalled. It starts and idles fine but as soon as i touch the throttle it stalls.
I checked the air filter and its not clogged. I even removed it and the symptom remains the same. I also removed the carb a few times to verify the jets, choke plunger, passage ways and float. I dont see anything wrong. Any suggestions? |

Bogging is a lean condition, do you have good fuel flow to the carb? Is your gas line from the petcock a steady downward flow to the carb with no uphill travel? Pull the fuel line off at the carb and turn the petcock to on position and check flow, turn to reserve and check flow. If you have good flow then my next step would be to pull the float needle valve and clean that. Good luck with it

Did you adjust the valve lash? Sometimes, Chinese thumper engines come with very tight valves and need adjustments from new.
