Cant remove rear axle from a GY6
Hi guys I have an icebear maddog with a GY6 engine.
the rear wheel has been wobbling and I realized is because something is wrong inside the drum where the breaks go, but i can't remove the drum and I think is because the axle has an expander or washer that i have no clue how to remove, can someone help me figure out how to take out the drum? |

I found a good photo of that drivetrain:
https://www.cajunmaddogs.com/product...ng-case-engine It looks like nothing is preventing it from being removed except friction. Got a puller? Try a puller. I tapping it (the drum) with a hammer when you have a puller applying force should help it loose. That collar in your photo that comes out to the threads appears to be just a sleeve, not pinned in any way or threaded. Is that a spring? Can the collar compress the spring if you push it onto the shaft? I think it should slide off. Can it rotate by hand? I see no eveidence of a circlamp on the shaft in the long-case photo.

Good point mudflap. I completel missed that possibility! It would be classic slap in the face if the brakes are holding it on! Sometimes the simplest things...
