Agreed!

Real estate, physical gold and silver, food, vehicles, other tangibles and barterables.

Failure to prepare is preparing to fail.

Currency is an illusion, it always has been. Just numbers in a computer.

Time to bring out this classic if you never have seen it, Episode 4. is a good explanation for what is happening at the moment.

Just don't tell anyone that the emperor has no clothes...

Or that the FDIC only has a few hundred billion in assets it can sell to cover more than a trillion in deposits in "FDIC insured" bank accounts...

That's why you see all the foreign bank stocks going down on the news even with the President trotted out on Monday morning to assure the world all is well. Or that the closed door central bank meetings that some public footage was out on YouTube showed them openly discussing this before it happened and that at all costs the information must be released on a Friday Evening so that all the banks were closed and folks could not immediately go out and do a bank run and instead had to stew over the weekend before the President gets his message out that all is well, have faith, continue the faith in the system.

Or that during the pandemic the Fed changed the Fractional Reserve Lending rate all the way down to ZERO percent and they could unlimited print and generate exponential new money in the economy.

See video above to understand what Fractional Reserve Lending is and what its impact truly is on the economy.

I am considering revising my opinion, based solely on your user name, that you are merely a lariat-twirlin', TGIF six-gun shootin' cowpoke from Tejas.

The FDIC does not and cannot cover every deposited dollar. The big dogs will be "to big to fail", bailed out by everyone else's money. That's why the gov't is trying to ban crypto-except their own. Look at history. It doesn't lie. You don't have to be a weatherman to know which way the blows.

The banks do not keep cash on hand to meet 100% demand on all accounts. More like 1%. That is fractional reserve banking. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/f...rvebanking.asp

A major crash also gives credence to those pushing for a CBDC (central bank digital currency). You're going to hear a lot more about this in the future. In everyday human affairs, centralized is a bad thing, and decentralized is good. It's all about who has the control.
Actually, the FDIC guarentees up to 250k, so there is reasonably quick access to it when the FDIC takes over the bank (which it did with the two banks last week). if your deposits are above that, there's still a good chance of getting your $ with a wait as long as the banks have "good" assets backing their deposits. FDIC will find another bank to buy the assets making the $ liquid and then further deposits above the 250k are paid out.

What I find interesting in this case is that the FDIC is guarenteeing all deposits, even above the limit. they plan to do a special assessment on all banks to cover the deposits.

As for the crash of 29, the FDIC was not in place at that time. it's one of the things the federal govt established to avoid the event in the future.

More info on the SVB bailout. Yellen broke the FDIC rules to make sure the fat cats were paid off. "The rules" do not actually apply to the rich and powerful. Just us pesky unimportant little people.

Tucker Carlson had a revealing segment on it last night. Search on YT for Tucker: This was a disaster for America.

Carlson? After his lawyer defended him in a slander case by stating "The "'general tenor' of the show should then inform a viewer that [Carlson] is not 'stating actual facts' about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in 'exaggeration' and 'non-literal commentary.' " I find it hard to believe people use him as any kind of reference. By the way, if you didn't know, the judge agreed that nothing about his show should be taken seriously and let him off the hook. All of which is a matter of public record.
