I know this is an old thread but very easily searched and if anyone has this problem maybe they will come across it.

If you turn the key all the way on and nothing works like the battery is dead....

It could be the ignition switch. They are junk. Once fully turned to the on position and nothing happens...turn the key towards the off position slowly until everything comes on. Just replaced my switch and a buddy did his a couple months ago. Same thing.
