New Hawk DLX with some damage pics and questions for y'all.

Howdy folks. I'm in the middle of building my new 2022 Hawk DLX, purchased from TXPowersports. The crate arrived pretty well damaged.(and late thanks to SAIA messing things up)
So I have some pics just for fun to show you, and TXPowersports asked for them so they can warranty the damaged parts. So, enjoy the show. I have some questions as well I'm hoping you fine people may be able to answer.

The Crate:

Left Hand Hold:

Right Rear Fairing Rash:

Rear Spring Damage:

Right Tank Fairing (missing attachment tabs):

Funky Airbox Glue Job:

Engine Fin Damage:

There was a scuff on the muffler but you can barely see it and fairing will cover it.

SAIA said they'd open a claim but I haven't heard a thing about it yet.

---

I started and ran the bike for about 1 minute with factory oil and the little dredge of gas in the tank, just to make sure it ran.

I've since changed to Rotella T4 15w-40, and filled with ethanol-free 87 octane. After adjusting valves (see question 2 below), it runs like a champ. I idled and low revved for about 10 minutes to get it hot and check for leaks and anything unusual.
It was great. I have not yet ridden it as I haven't adjusted chain tension yet.

Now for some questions:

1. How can I tell which chain I have? I want to change at least the rear sprocket, maybe both, but wouldn't mind keeping this chain as long as I can. I don't want to get the wrong pitch sprocket.

2. Does anyone care to chime in on the final word on valve lash? I used what I saw more often than not, which was 0.03mm Intake, and 0.05mm Exhaust. It seems to run excellent.

3. In the picture of the airbox / intake, there's that funky bend. I've seen it in most videos I've watched, but not on a couple of bikes. Is that normal? Will it affect performance any?

3b. What the heck is that glue job on the airbox? Did they do that on all of them?

4. Anyone else notice the headlight dimming down and up when the flasher is on and the turn signal lights up while at idle? I charged battery to 100%. Is it that the battery is just weak junk? Or is the stator weak?

Thanks guys for reading, and helping with questions.

Just some info from my Hawk DLX made in 12/20. 1 my chain is a 428. 2 valve lash is 0.05-0.07 mm per manual. 3 that bend in the hose is just like yours, maybe heat up and remove then straighten out. Any way you do it, just get it done or you’ll have unfiltered air going into the engine. 4 the reason for that problem is probably a bad ground, check your wiring closely. I got mine from TXPS also and haven’t had any issues, guess I was lucky. My thoughts…

I was going to suggest the same thing.

Small update. Txpowersports doesn't have the tank fairing that was broken in stock. They just told me it will be 30-50 days. I told them to send it when they get it. But that's annoying AF.

no one has mentioned to this point, but TX Powersports is not the best of vendors to buy from. Hopefully they will come through for you, but best to keep track and keep on them to get resolution.

Yeah. I knew their reputation was just ok. But the price was great and free shipping definitely sold me on it. That's $400 worth in itself.
