Hawk 250 RED EXHAUST PIPE

Red hot exhaust sounds fun but it also comes with white smoke from the engine. The bike is brand new its able to run but I had it going for like 10-15 seconds when I noticed white smoke coming from the engine area and the start of the exhaust pipe turning red. I already checked for burning wires and found none and I'm going to make the fuel-air mix richer to hopefully solve the exhaust overheating issue. In the meantime does anyone have any other ideas as to what's causing these issues?

Okay, the white smoke is normal on first start up. Just burning off paint and what not. I don't think you are running rich but rather lean as these bikes come tuned very lean from the factory to get passed the EPA. If you are idling above 1500 rpms the exhaust will get red hot quick.

Carb comes lean stock as Jerry stated. Also, the valves need adjusted out of the box, then again after 500 miles. Set them between .05mm and .08mm. I suggest .07mm for initial break in. After than you can go a bit tighter if desired.
